On his arrival at the NCS premises, he was warmly welcomed by Very Rev. Fr. Clement Kwasi Adjei, NCS Secretary General and affectionately received by the entire staff members of the Secretariat.

He was led first into the Pope St. John Paul II NCS Chapel where he paid his respect to Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, after which he held a closed-door meeting with the clergy staff of the Secretariat.

The Apostolic Nuncio then met with the entire NCS staff at the Conference Hall of the Secretariat where the official reception took place. He was briefed on the history and structure of the NCS and the Secretary-General, on behalf of the Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference (GCBC) welcomed him and assured him of the cooperation of the Secretariat staff to make his first mission as Apostolic Nuncio successful.

In response, Archbishop Kabore expressed delight at the presence of a large number of staff gathered in his honour. He said, “I was not expecting such a big meeting”. He said that the purpose of his coming was to know those he was working with and to see them first to first. “The Nunciature”, he said, cannot work without the Secretariat. Let us work together to build a strong bridge between the Holy See and Ghana, and that bridge is the Nunciature”.

He said, he feels at home here in Ghana, for the reason that his home country (Burkina Faso) is very close to Ghana.

His Excellency was taken round the NCS departments and to the sacred space of the Pope St. John Paul II Grotto, NCS.
